- Advertising platforms (Google and Meta), to measure and improve our advertising
These providers may store data in Australia or overseas.
To measure our advertising, we may share your email address and phone number with Google and Meta, and the member number of your account with Meta, when you send an enquiry, create an account, create a listing, make a purchase or use the site while signed in. 4. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Maintain login sessions
- Support secure authentication
- Enable listings and payment features
- Analyse site traffic and performance
- Improve user experience
- Measure the results of our advertising, with our advertising partners Google and Meta
When you arrive on our site from one of our ads or emails, a social media post, a search engine, an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or another website, we keep a note of where you came from in a cookie for up to 30 days. If you sign up, send an enquiry, create a listing or make a purchase in that time, we save that note with that record (and with records that follow from it, such as subscription renewals), so we can tell which ads and websites lead to them. Google and Meta also set their own cookies for this purpose.
You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the site may not function correctly. You can also limit how Google and Meta use your information for advertising in your Google ad settings and Meta ad preferences.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for:
- Providing services
- Account maintenance
- Resolving disputes
- Fraud or abuse detection
- Measuring which ads and websites bring members to us (the note of where you came from is kept with the related account, enquiry, listing or payment for as long as that record is kept)
- Compliance with taxation and legal requirements
Listing data may remain archived after expiry for auditing and security purposes.
You may request deletion of your account at any time.
